According to ancient Vedic scriptures and modern-day physics everything is
fundamentally sound vibration — including us. For this reason, we respond
instantaneously and instinctively to sound. Nada yoga, the yoga of sound, uses
sound vibration — through chanting, toning, listening — as a yoga practice.
The yoga of sound takes many forms, from the heart opening practice of devotional chanting to the powerful recitation of Vedic mantra, the meditation of deep
listening to the raga system of classical Indian music. Ann's work in sound
has been credited with "erasing boundaries between the sacred and profane", by the Contra Costa Times. She conducts workshops, monthly chanting sessions, and private lessons in the yoga of sound, and will be releasing an instructional CD this year.
